Côr Meibion Maesteg a’r Cylch
The Llynfi Valley in South Wales has a long religious, industrial and cultural history with the town of Maesteg being central to its development over the centuries. With the Valley returning to its scenic beauty, the community continues to be a thriving cultural mix of choirs, operatic and drama societies, art and historic societies etc.
Côr Meibion Maesteg a’r Cylch was formed in 1974 with a mixture of the above groups to start a town choir.
Now in its forty-second year, the choir is still continuing to raise a tremendous amount of money for charities, and giving immense pleasure to thousands of people in venues throughout Britain.
This popularity has arisen out of its consistently high professional performance standards, a varied repertoire from a wide range of music genres and the support of loyal and very talented local guest artistes who travel with us to provide a balanced concert programme, led by our talented Music Team: Huw Morgan (Musical Director), Laura Deenick (Accompanist) and Paul Deenick (Deputy MD). The Choir is equally at home performing in major concert halls, radio, television and recording studios, churches, chapels, village halls, hospitals etc.
The current engagement is always treated as the most important, but some special past memories include:
