Assistant Musical Director – Paul Deenik

Paul’s musical journey began as a seven-year-old chorister in St Mary’s Church, Nolton in Bridgend. During his time there, he was a member of the Royal School of Music Cathedral Singers, attaining his Dean’s, Bishop’s and St Nicholas awards.

After joining the Mid Glamorgan Youth Choir at 14, he was accepted into the National Youth Choir of Wales in 1995, the BBC National Chorus of Wales in 1996 and the Black Mountain Male Chorus in 1997, with whom he undertook three US tours as well as trips to Lorient, France and Hong Kong.

Paul became MD of The South Wales Burma Star Choir in 1998 and in 2000 was appointed MD of Côr Merched Cwm Llynfi in Maesteg. After tenures with Côr Merched Ynysybwl and Caerphilly Male Voice Choir, Paul has been appointed Assistant MD of Côr Meibion Maesteg a’r Cylch. Paul says, “I am very proud and thrilled to be working with Côr Meibion. I know they have been working exceptionally hard over the past months, and I wish them, Huw and Laura all the very best for a magnificent Annual Concert this evening!”
